The EMEUNET Social Media Sub-Committee remains committed to sharing essential rheumatology updates and EMEUNET initiatives through various social media channels, our website, and regular emails. Our online platform acts as the primary resource for EMEUNET information, featuring congress notifications, educational content, fellowship opportunities, and career postings.
Daily social media posts ensure consistent engagement with our community. EMEUNET maintains an active presence across multiple social media channels, including Facebook, X (formerly Twitter), LinkedIn, and Instagram, delivering real-time updates to the global rheumatology community
Established activities and successful initiatives in 2025
EMEUNET’s podcast initiative has experienced remarkable growth since its 2020 launch, establishing itself as one of our most popular educational resources. Released bi-weekly on Fridays in collaboration with the Education Sub-Committee, the podcast features interviews with Top 10 abstract winners, congress highlights, mentor-mentee discussions, recent publications, and insights from leading rheumatology figures.
Complementing this, our Top 10 Abstracts initiative continues to spotlight exceptional research from EMEUNET members at major conferences like EULAR and ACR, generating significant engagement across social media platforms and providing valuable exposure for early-career researchers within the global rheumatology community.
Our EULAR-EMEUNET coordinated social media campaign has contributed significantly to the success of World Arthritis Day 2025, focused on the theme “Achieve Your Dreams!”, amplifying the personal goals and visions of people living with rheumatic and musculoskeletal diseases and raising awareness across the global rheumatology community.
Looking ahead to 2026
We have incorporated the feedback from a comprehensive survey on social media editorship, which we conducted in 2025, to better understand workflows across academic groups. Subsequently, we have changed our way of working within the Social Media Subcommittee, focusing more on strategy and collaborative work.
New Initiatives for 2025 include:
- Redesigning the X (Twitter) course in collaboration with the EULAR Social Media Study Group
- Developing a strategy of disseminating the results of EULAR Task Forces, with a focus on the involvement of EMEUNET fellows
- Establishing a team of EMEUNET Social Media Ambassadors, who will be actively covering the EULAR congress, by creating and disseminating content aimed at an audience of young rheumatologists/ researchers.
