This study showed that patients with early PsA have a higher cardiovascular and metabolic burden in comparison to age-matched early RA patients despite similar rates of obesity, suggesting a link between metabolic disturbances and PsA at a pathophysiological level.

This large study including 201 axSpA patients indicates that altered somatosensory function related to central sensitization is present in a subgroup of patients with axSpA and is strongly related to psychosocial factors.
