7th EULAR Immunology Course

Frankfurt, Germany
Friday, 12 April 2024 – Saturday, 13 April 2024

COURSE DESCRIPTION
This is a compact, one-and-a-half-day course on immunology that will cover two major immunology topics from basic knowledge to hot issues in the field, and on the design, interpretation, and analysis of basic or translational research projects. The course is designed to facilitate problem- and case-oriented learning to enhance the interactions among participants and between participants and the faculty. Lectures will provide the basic knowledge to the course participants. Participants will work in small groups on specific proposals for research projects in clinical and basic immunology.

Three main sessions will be organized:

  • Basic to Hot topic sessions (with 3 different lectures about adaptive or innate
    immunity)
  • Discussion of a potential research project. Based on an unsolved research question posed by the faculty, the participants will draft a project using immunological investigational techniques (in vitro, in vivo). Via discussion with the faculty, the project will be improved and refined, so the participants will learn how to optimize approach, methods, and controls.
  • Immunology Speed Dating with the faculty. This session will allow the participants to network and to interact with the faculty in a more ‘informal’ environment which will stimulate sharing knowledge and ideas.

The course will end with an Immunology Quiz that will challenge and test the acquired knowledge of the participants and of the faculty.
