The EMEUNET Social Media Sub-Committee continues its mission to disseminate key rheumatology information and EMEUNET activities across major social media channels, on our website and through regular e-mail communications.
Digital Presence
Our website remains the central hub for EMEUNET-related information, featuring conference announcements, educational content, exchange programme calls and job opportunities. The “What Is New” section continues to provide disease-specific updates, making it a valuable resource for the rheumatology community.
Social Media Platforms
EMEUNET maintains an active presence on Facebook, X (formerly Twitter), LinkedIn and Instagram, providing real-time updates to the global rheumatology community. This year, we’ve conducted a comprehensive survey on social media editorship to better understand workflows across academic groups, helping us to optimise our content delivery and engagement strategies.
Podcast Success
EMEUNET’s podcast initiative has seen remarkable growth since its 2020 launch, becoming one of our most popular educational offerings. In collaboration with the Education Sub-Committee, we release the podcast bi-weekly on Fridays. The podcast continues to feature:
- Top 10 abstract winners.
- Congress highlights.
- Mentor-mentee meeting interviews.
- Author interviews for recent publications.
- Conversations with key rheumatology figures.

Top 10 Abstracts Initiative
The Top 10 Abstracts initiative continues to showcase outstanding research from EMEUNET members at major conferences like EULAR and ACR. These highlighted abstracts receive significant engagement across our social media platforms, providing valuable exposure for early-career researchers.

New Initiatives for 2025
- Enhanced focus on inter-organisational collaboration with other young researcher networks.
- Development of social media best practices, based on editorship survey findings.
- Strategic X (Twitter) training ahead of EULAR Congress to maximise engagement.
The Social Media Sub-Committee remains committed to fostering digital engagement and knowledge-sharing within the rheumatology community, adapting our approaches based on member feedback and evolving digital landscapes.
