EMEUNET Sub-Committees and Activities 2026 – Education Sub-Committee

The aims of the Education Sub-Committee are to:

1) Promote scientific and educational exchange and knowledge.

This is accomplished through several activities on the website, via social media, and at national and international scientific conferences. These include the EMEUNET podcast, where prestigious guests are invited to discuss recent studies or explain essential activities of EULAR and EMEUNET. The annual EULAR-EMEUNET Ambassador Program supports first-time attendees at the EULAR congress and matches them with an experienced member with similar interests.

Latest EMEUNET podcast on Haemochromatosis Arthropathy

The latest EMEUNET podcast focused on the new EULAR classification criteria for haemochromatosis arthropathy. In this episode, Prof. Patrick Kiely, convenor of the EULAR task force on the classification criteria, and Dr. Simone Parisi, the EMEUNET representative on the task force, discussed how the criteria were developed, the main insights, and future perspectives for individuals with this condition

2) Promote educational opportunities and support for young rheumatologists/researchers working in the field of rheumatology in Europe and beyond.

We organize the EULAR-ACR-APLAR exchange, where 30 young physicians and researchers meet up to discuss and share projects.

3) Provide opportunities for EMEUNET members to integrate into EULAR task forces, which include up to two EMEUNET members who participate and contribute to the shaping of EULAR recommendations. Candidates are selected competitively based on scientific merit and prior contributions to EMEUNET and EULAR, coordinated by the Education Sub-Committee. Additionally, we work closely with the EULAR Education Committee and the EULAR School of Rheumatology.
