The aims of the Education Sub-Committee are to:
1) Promote scientific and education exchange and knowledge. This is accomplished through a number of activities on the website, via social media and during several national and international scientific conferences. These include the monthly ‘What is New’ (WIN) contributions highlighting newly-published publications in the field of rheumatology. In the recently rejuvenated EMEUNET podcast, prestigious guests discuss the results of significant studies and explain essential activities of EULAR and EMEUNET. The annual EULAR-EMEUNET Ambassador Programme supports first-time attendees at the EULAR congress and matches them with an experienced member with similar interests. Lastly, we organise the EULAR-ACR exchange, in collaboration with the ACR.

2) Promote educational opportunities and support for young rheumatologists/researchers working in the field of rheumatology in Europe and beyond. This is done by obtaining reports for EULAR courses and EULAR-endorsed courses via our ‘Roving Reporters’ with the aim to inform future participants. We also coordinate bursaries for certain EULAR-endorsed courses and for other events.

3) Provide opportunities for EMEUNET members to integrate into EULAR activities, which include up to two EMEUNET members who participate and contribute to the shaping of EULAR recommendations. Candidates are chosen competitively on scientific merit and previous contributions to EMEUNET and EULAR, coordinated by the Education Sub-Committee. Additionally, we work closely with the EULAR Education Committee and the EULAR School of Rheumatology.
