At EMEUNET, we are constantly working to strengthen connections among young rheumatologists and researchers across Europe. But what really makes this network special? Let me tell you something interesting!
Recently, we had the opportunity to present the latest EMEUNET initiatives at the Young Investigator Meeting (YIM) in Gothenburg, Sweden. This annual event, organized by young paediatric rheumatologists, brings together experts in paediatrics and rheumatology for educational lectures, updates from various societies, and invaluable networking opportunities.
Standing on the stage alongside my colleague Deniz Bayraktar, who a Social Media subcommittee member, was both exciting and inspiring. We were not just sharing information—we were showcasing the incredible work of the EMEUNET dynamic community that thrives on collaboration and innovation.

One of the highlights was the opportunity to discuss the wide range of activities that EMEUNET offers for early-career rheumatologists. We exchanged insights, reflected on how far EMEUNET has come, and, most importantly, felt the energy of being part of something bigger—a growing network fuelled by the passion and dedication of young professionals who contribute selflessly to the community.
The presentation was also an opportunity to engage with professionals in the field of paediatric rheumatology, reinforcing the importance of multidisciplinary collaboration. We were particularly excited to see that participants showed interest in EMEUNET’s initiatives.
Discussing the mentorship programs, educational webinars, and networking events with an engaged audience reinforced the impact of what we do. These initiatives are not just about professional growth—they are about building a supportive community where young rheumatologists can thrive together.
Beyond the presentations and discussions, YIM was also an opportunity to strengthen friendships and collaborations within the EMEUNET team. The informal moments—chatting over coffee, exchanging experiences, and brainstorming new ideas—were just as valuable as the formal sessions.
From talking about peer-mentoring programs and networking opportunities to the excitement of EMEUNET activities at the EULAR Congress, we could see how much these initiatives resonate with young professionals. The experience at YIM was not just about presenting—it was about connecting with the young paediatric rheumatology community, exchanging ideas, and celebrating the spirit of EMEUNET.

So, if you haven’t already, dive into the EMEUNET experience—there’s always something exciting happening!
